The “Lemon Gym” fitness club network is investing €400,000 in the modernization of its largest club in Latvia – “AKROPOLE Riga”. The fitness club, which has been operating at this location for eight years, will be fully renovated in line with the latest “Lemon Gym” club concept. As part of the modernization, the club’s layout will be redesigned, the free weights area will be expanded, new equipment will be installed, a dedicated recovery zone will be created for visitors, and other improvements will be made. The works are scheduled to be completed by the end of October. During the renovation, the fitness club will remain open, and visitors will be able to work out 24/7 as usual.

“AKROPOLE Riga” is the largest “Lemon Gym” club in Latvia. It covers an area of 1,622 square metres and is also one of the most visited clubs in the network, recording approximately 20,000 visits per month.

As part of the modernization, the club will be redesigned while maintaining its existing total floor area. To make more efficient use of the space, the free weights area will be almost doubled in size, and additional cable machines will be installed, selected according to the needs of the club’s visitors.

The former reception area, which is no longer in use, will be transformed into a recovery zone. It will feature red light therapy equipment, “Roll Shaper” lymphatic drainage massage machines and a hydro-massage bed. Saunas will also be available in the renovated club.

These changes reflect the new “Lemon Gym” concept, which places equal importance on quality workouts, comprehensive recovery options after physical activity and overall wellbeing.

“We continuously invest in our clubs to ensure they meet the expectations and needs of today’s visitors. The fitness club at the “AKROPOLE Riga” shopping and entertainment centre will be modernized in line with the latest “Lemon Gym” concept, with greater emphasis not only on workout quality but also on the overall visitor experience – from a more functional layout to solutions that support recovery after physical activity,” says Grėta Radzevičienė, CEO of “Lemon Gym” and “Impuls”.

According to Grėta Radzevičienė, the fitness club market in the Baltics still has significant growth potential. Currently, approximately 8–9% of the region’s population visit fitness clubs, while in many Western European countries this figure reaches around 12–14%.

“AKROPOLE Riga” is also the only “Lemon Gym” club in Latvia offering the globally popular HYROX workouts – an innovative functional fitness format that is attracting growing interest among active lifestyle enthusiasts.

There are currently eight “Lemon Gym” fitness clubs operating in Riga, with another club set to open in Ziepniekkalns in September – one of the largest neighbourhoods in Riga. The investment in the development of the new fitness club will amount to €900,000.

The “Lemon Gym” and “Impuls” group currently operates 33 fitness clubs in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and has 85,000 customers. By the end of 2027, the group plans to expand its network to 40 fitness clubs and increase the number of customers in the Baltics to more than 110,000.

In 2025, the group’s turnover in Latvia reached €6.7 million, representing a 4% increase compared with the previous year.
